The Blind Side.. which is yours?
Quotes from the movie, The Blind Side. A real life account of Michael Oher.
Michael (in his essay about a poem):
“Courage is a hard thing to figure out.You can have courage based on a dumb idea or a mistake, but you are not supposed to question adults or your coach or your teacher. Because they make the rules.
Maybe they know the best or maybe they don’t. It all depends on who you...

The OCBC Cycle 2010 (20KM Community Ride) with the peeps was great fun (Bok, wished you could make it!)! Plus some of the folks who ain’t riding came down to support us too! *feel the love*. Anyway the actual route seems so much easier to ride as compared to our training at ECP. Perhaps the actual road was in a better condition? Or is it that our weekend training sessions are paying off?...

The day where I was followed
It was a day I considered to be rather productive as I managed to complete my resume (draft), cleared my bills and library fines, dropped the mail, did some eyebrow trimming, bought the wifi-router (procrastinate since last year), bought a new aroma diffuser (hope it will clear my headaches and colds), sent a couple of mails and even did facial before that! So anyway on my way home… I...

Doh!
Someone decided to keep an album of interesting (and good looking) downtime web pages and I found them in Flickr. In my developer’s words, “those are kickass maintenance page.”
And more here and here. And some best practices to follow. :)

Escaping is the best short term solution now
Since Saturday (2 Jan) things have been moving at a super fast speed that I cannot comprehend. Shock soon took over by sadness, then guilt, anger, disgust and frustrations.
The funeral was over and done with very swiftly by Monday with only Sunday available for anyone to come and pay their respects. Don’t ask me why it’s done this way, I’m puzzled with the decision too....

The countdown to 2010
I had a great countdown to 2010. I hope you had a good one too. :)
Some of the fireworks pics taken with my lousy E71 phone camera. Must wait for JY’s pics from her dslr.
In 2010, I want to do more meaningful things in my life, be it work, or personal. 2 more years to 30 - Hope I’ll accumulate enough meaningful deeds to celebrate 30 in a big bang. Something to look forward to....

I wonder what will the response be like, if it’s in Singapore. My gut feel is, it would not go to a charity. It might just go and fund someone’s travel trip or something. Trust Mother to come up with something like that. :)

A X'mas Pressie to myself
Bought myself a pair of sunnies to replace the old Gucci (black) that wasn’t fitting well anymore (cos my face grew wider ?).
Brand: Agnes B. Model: AB2785 - Black Crystal (Should be part of the 2009 collection)
As it was the last pair, the shop gave me 20% off. And plus I can subsidize portion of it from my company’s staff benefit scheme, which means that I only need to top...

10 Traits Men Look for in a Girlfriend →
A girlfriend shared this article with me and I find it so amusing. Obviously it’s written in non-asian guys point of view (well most of them anyway), cos I’m pretty sure alot of them will be “threaten” by pt #1 - She has a life of her own - and its pretty good to boot.
Guess there’s a reason why more Singaporean women are hooking up with angmos? Read it just for...

Mark Twain’s Top 9 Tips for Living a Kick-Ass Life →
My favorite quote and something that I live by ever since I embrace freedom, independence and life: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did so. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

cycling on nothing (for now)
To my friends who have registered earlier on for this event but have not made any arrangements for the bike equipment yet, please be made aware that the adult bike rentals are now fully booked.
Yes, fully booked even though their FAQ states that “…bike rentals will be available on event day”.
I dropped an email to the event organizer on 16 Dec and a lady named...

Can I say no?
TaurusBy Rick Levine
Social commitments could add extra stress by placing unreasonable demands on your time. And although you are able to extend your horizons a bit farther than usual today, you don’t want to reach so far that your balance is upset. Being open to new things is fine, but don’t be afraid to say no if your common sense tells you to cut back on your activities.

The stars can read my destiny for today
Taurus By Rick Levine
You might believe that the good times are running out, but perhaps it’s your social obligations over the weekend that are worrying you today. Although you are correct in assuming you’ll need to make some adjustments to accommodate the needs of others, it won’t be as problematic as you think. For now, set aside your concerns for the future and concentrate on...
